Meet Eric Macias, the owner, captain and founder of Silver Wave. It’s a gift to find your true calling and Eric found his fast. After just one summer fishing in Alaska, Eric found his passion and his life-long career. This will be his 13th season salmon fishing in Alaska, and his 8th season as a SE AK permit holder and owner of a 58ft. limit seiner fishing vessel. In the off-season, he lives in Durango CO, but is in the constant search of powder days and the perfect set of surf waves.
His Fishing Vessel (F/V), the Silver Wave is a time tested 1967 wooden fishing boat. She’s a beauty and reliably does her job with grit and fortitude. Her trusty aluminum skiff, which directs the boat's net to bring in the catch, is aptly named the 'Silver Surfer'. In Alaska, "Silver Wave" is when a large shoal of Coho Salmon, often called "Silvers" swim together in full force to create a wave, a Silver Wave.

Silver Wave is your local fisherman offering wild Alaskan salmon from our boat to your table, once a year at the end of the summer season. We pre-sell our wild salmon and ship it at the end of our season. Our fish is flash frozen at the peak of freshness and retains all of the optimal health supporting nutrients. Order enough to carry you through the year, you will be so glad you did.
As you can imagine, transporting wild-caught seafood from the cold waters of Alaska to the land-locked communities of the mountain west is a journey. This explains why it's hard to find good, healthy, wild-caught fish at a reasonable price at your local grocer.
To be sustainable in our practices, as well as affordable for our customers, the pre-order platform provides an accurate amount of fish to catch, process, package and make the safe journey from our boat to your dinner table, for the year ahead. Some companies offer monthly subscriptions, but we prefer this method to cut down on excessive packaging and shipping.

How do I order my share?
For now, you’ll want to sign up for our newsletter. It’s at the bottom of this page! We’ll let you know when our online store is open. After that, it’s easy. You’ll go to our store and choose the package that fits you and your family. Order it and get excited about your wild salmon. It will arrive at the end of our fishing season and in the mean time, we’ll share our fish stories with you, as well as delicious recipes and ideas for entertaining.
How much should I order for my family?
We offer guidelines for different scenarios, and of course it’s personal! How often do you want to eat this amazing, health supporting, super food? We offer 10, 20, 40 and 60 pound shares and it keeps in the freezer for a year. And remember, it makes the perfect gift for anyone and any occasion. We have never heard someone say that they ordered too much. We ALWAYS hear that they ordered too little, and then it’s too late.
When is the deadline to order my wild salmon?
The DEADLINE to order is AUGUST 20th, 2020. You should know that we SELL OUT every year- so be sure to order early! When all total share orders are in, we will begin the transportation process from Southeast Alaska to your table by barge, truck and car.
How will I know when my wild salmon is coming? How will I get it?
Approximately the middle of September….we’ll keep you updated via email or you can check the website for more information about how to PICK-UP your order. We will set up a central location and you can pick it, or if you are unable to personally pick up your fish share or arrange a pick-up, please CONTACT US about home delivery options for an additional fee.
